Accepts and distributes human bodies for scientific study. Body donations are utilized for teaching anatomy and surgery and for research in the state's medical schools, colleges, universities, and nursing schools. Donation may be arranged prior to death by completing a donor form or donation may be made after death by having an after death donor form completed by the person responsible for the disposition of the body. The body is cremated upon completion of study; however, ashes are not returned to family but are respectfully buried or scattered.
