Bryan Fairfax lived at Belvoir, close to George Washington's Mt. Vernon. The son of William Fairfax, Bryan served as a justice for Fairfax County at the same time as Washington. He also was an ordained Episcopal Minister and served as the chaplain of the Fairfax Parish for a time. This lease between Bryan Fairfax and Perrygreen Mackness is a good example of the land records available at the Circuit Court archives.
