Circuit Court Announcement
As part of our transition to normal operations and after consultation with the health department the following policy will be enacted on July 1:

Effective July 1, 2021, all civil trials and civil motions set Monday through Thursday in Circuit Court will be conducted in person. All COVID related precautions will be maintained to include the current mask policy, social distancing, and screening. Parties requesting virtual trials/hearings must contact calendar control for approval. Friday civil motion dockets will continue as virtual hearings for the time being.

Amendment to Mandatory Face Covering Order of May 18, 2020 - Amended order of the Fairfax Circuit Court regarding face coverings in the Courthouse, dated June 10, 2021.


May 21, 2021 - Message to the Bar and Public as to the current mask policy
Pursuant to CDC direction and after consultation with the Sheriff’s Office, the Fairfax Bar, and the County Health Department, the following interim mask policy will go into effect Monday May 24, 2021, in the Fairfax County Courthouse:

By order of the Chief Judge of Fairfax County Circuit Court, masks will be required to enter the courthouse. Once in the courtroom, judges have the authority to allow fully vaccinated individuals to remove their mask when seated or addressing the Court.

All other COVID safety measures will remain in effect.
