2000 Community Assessment Reports

Important Information: The 2000 Community Assessment data are based on a survey of 11,200 households, and 6,859 surveys were returned. It is not based on 2000 Decennial Census data, so there will be some differences in the numbers. The Census was done in April, and the Community Assessment survey was mailed in September, so some allowance has been made for population growth during that time. In addition, the survey includes only household population; it does not include persons living in group quarters such as prisons, nursing homes, or dormitories, and does not include people living on Fort Belvoir. The variations in sampling, timing, and scope of the Community Assessment survey account for differences in the totals when comparing to the U.S. Census estimates.
