Healthy Families Fairfax Collage

Healthy Families Fairfax is a home visiting program for expectant parents or families with a newborn. Services are free, confidential and voluntary. We provide home visiting services that empower parents to help children develop the social, emotional and cognitive skills they need to succeed in life. Healthy Families Fairfax helps parents to ensure that children receive nurturing care from their family that leads to a healthy, long and successful life. Our teams of Home Visitors help parents bring out the best in themselves by tapping into the skills they already possess.

Home Visitors:

  • Make regular home visits before the child is born and continue until the child is ready for preschool.
  • Help answer any questions about pregnancy and the best ways to ensure the baby’s birth is healthy.
  • Monitor the baby’s progress during different stages of early life to help prevent any possible health or learning problems.
  • Teach problem-solving skills to use during different stages of the child’s growth.
  • Support families in identifying and achieving their individual goals.
  • Bring fun and creative activities for parents and children to do together.
  • Host play groups to allow families to build social connections.
  • Help families and their children get ready for kindergarten and beyond.
