About Healthy Families Fairfax

group of infants playingHealthy Families Fairfax uses a home visiting model that is rooted in the belief that early nurturing relationships are the foundation for life-long, healthy development. We provide culturally respectful services that are specific to the goals and/or needs of the families.

Our Healthy Families’ team members help parents bring out the best in themselves by tapping into the skills they already possess. Our services empower parents to help children develop the social, emotional, and cognitive skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.

Our program is nationally accredited by Healthy Families America® as a provider of highest quality home visitation services. Healthy Families Fairfax is an evidence-based model that uses curricula to help support families. This includes the nationally recognized curriculum, Parents as Teachers, which we supplement with other creative curricula and developmental tools.

History
  • Healthy Families Fairfax has been serving families across Fairfax County since May 1994.
  • The program started (and continues) as a collaboration between the Department of Family Services, community-based organizations, and the Fairfax County Health Department.
