Rental Housing Registration Process
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Welcome to the FCRHA Online Housing Application Center. Through this site you may register for the Registration list for affordable housing assistance. Please note that due to the demand for housing assistance there are many other families already waiting for assistance – this is not Emergency Housing. However, in some cases (primarily non-federal programs), the wait for housing is shorter.
Programs offered by the FCRHA include: Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program, Public Housing and Fairfax County Rental Program. Before continuing with the registration process, please note the following:
Accurate, complete information is required:
You must disclose
the personal information requested for all persons who will be
living with you.
All information
you provide will be verified independently at a later date to determine
your final eligibility for assistance.
Many factors are used in determining your eligibility:
Your household
income must meet certain specific criteria.
You or at least
one family member of the household must be a citizen of the United
States, or lawfully admitted as an eligible non-citizen to the United
States.
Your credit
history will be considered as part of your eligibility for the Public
Housing and Fairfax County Rental Programs. Private landlords renting
under the Housing Choice Voucher program also consider the credit record
of applicants as part of their screening process. If you are having
credit problems, you should work to improve your credit or seek
counseling from a nonprofit counseling agency.
YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR ANY HOUSING ASSISTANCE IF:
- you owe monies to the FCRHA or to other Public Housing Authorities.
- you have been evicted or terminated from a federal, state or local subsidized housing program due to a serious program violations (such as committing fraud).
- you have been convicted of a serious criminal offense.
NOTE: It is a criminal offense to willfully make false statements or misrepresentations to any Department or Agency of the United States.
