Public Housing Rental Program - FCRHA

The Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority (FCRHA) owns 1,063 units of Public Housing. Public Housing units are managed and maintained by the Fairfax County Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). The units were built or acquired using federal public housing funds. Units include townhouses, garden apartments and condominium units, and are located throughout the County.

The program generally serves households with incomes up to 50% of median income. Tenants pay 30% of their income for rent. The average income of tenant households is about $16,695. The FCRHA receives an annual operating subsidy from the federal government. Fairfax County's Public Housing program is evaluated annually by HUD using Public Housing Assessment System (PHAS).
