Herndon Harbor House is an exciting concept in affordable retirement living for seniors with moderate incomes. Designed for the active lifestyles of residents, each building features attractively appointed and spacious common areas for entertaining and socializing. Phase I, with 60 one-bedroom apartments, was completed in October 1998. Phase II completes the residential community with 60 more attractive homes.

Fairfax County Parkway (Route 7100) north to end (Herndon/Reston)
Turn right at the traffic light (Spring Street which becomes Van Buren Street)
Continue straight to the light at Elden Street just past the Herndon Post Office.
Turn left onto Elden Street and proceed through two lights
Turn right at the third light at Grace Street
Continue to the end of Grace street and turn left onto Park Avenue
Turn again at the next left onto Jorss Place
Proceed to Herndon Harbor House on the left.

Herndon Harbor House is operated under a special tax credit program which requires that residents meet the following criteria:

  • 62 years or older at time of application
  • Income between the minimum and maximum requirements*

*Persons with Section 8 vouchers or who receive subsidy from other organizations and fall below the minimum income requirements will be considered. Qualifying income may also include regular contributions from family or other sources.
