2017 NCS Summer Programs for Kids & Teens


Are you looking for fun, engaging and fulfilling experiences for your child once school lets out? Don’t miss out on a wide variety of summertime programs offered by Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services:

    • If school is not in session, RECQuest and Teens in Action are! When school is out for the summer, spring or winter breaks, RECQuest and Teens in Action provide a variety of activities and field trips to keep kids and teens engaged and allows them to grow in a supervised, structured and enjoyable environment.

      RECQuest

      Dates:
      June 26 – August 25: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
      Eligibility: Rising 1st – Rising 6th graders
      Fee: Fees based on a sliding scale. Scholarships are available, eligibility rules apply.
      Locations: Baileys Community Center, David R. Pinn Community Center, Gum Springs Community Center, James Lee Community Center, Mott Community Center, Southgate Community Center, Willston Community Center

      Teens in Action
      Dates: June 26 – August 25: Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
      Eligibility: Youth ages 12-18
      Fee: Admission is free. Some field trips and activities may have related fees. Financial assistance is available, eligibility rules apply.
      Locations: James Lee Community Center, Mott Community Center, Providence Community Center, Reston Teen Center, South County Teen Center

    • Value in Prevention Camp is designed to encourage teens to develop healthy and positive recreation interests and features a wide variety of leisure activities and programs.
      Dates: July 5 to August 3, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
      Eigibility: School Students
      Fee: Admission is $50. Some field trips and activities may have related fees. Financial assistance is available, eligibility rules apply.
      Locations: Herndon Middle School, Stone Middle School, Kilmer Middle School, Frost Middle School, Sandburg Middle School

    • Therapeutic Recreation Summer Camps offer a variety of summer programming for school-aged individuals with disabilities.
      Dates: July 5 to August 11, Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
      Eligibility: Individuals aged 5 to 22 with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, physical disabilities, emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, and/or attention deficit disorders.
      Fee: $80 per week. Financial assistance is available, eligibility rules apply.
      Location: (Locations are subject to change.)  Bush Hill Elementary School, Haycock Elementary School, Brookfield Elementary School, Twain Middle School, Longfellow Middle School, Rocky Run Middle School

    • Youth soccer players of all skill levels can develop their talents and love of the sport at the Culmore Soccer Camp!
      Dates: June 26 to August 18, Monday - Friday, 1 to 4 p.m.
      Eligibility: Youth ages 6 - 16
      Fee: Free
      Location: Bailey's Elementary School

    • Free Summer Meals for Kids Program  offers nutritious meals served to school-age children who qualify for free or reduced price school meals.
