Find Connection, Exercise Your Body and Mind and Have Fun!

Virtual Center for Active Adults logoThe goal of the Virtual Center for Active Adults is to enrich the lives of adults in Fairfax County while combatting isolation. Here you can connect with your peers, engage in a variety of activities and discover useful resources.

Join live, interactive programs and engage with other adults. You can also watch programs on demand on your own schedule.

We have also included a curated list of virtual activities and useful services and resources available to residents of Fairfax County.

Spotlight Volunteer: Marie-Luce Mittakarin

Marie-Luce started volunteering at the Sully Senior Center in July 2018 as a backup dance teacher. After the Virtual Center for Active Adults launched in 2020, she began leading a weekly line-dancing class. In addition to the fact that dancing is fun, Marie-Luce appreciates the health benefits it provides, such as cardio exercise and stress relief, and believes it is more important than ever to continue dancing during the pandemic. She encourages nervous first timers to give her virtual dance class a try, saying, “If your fear of trying is based on the fear of failing in front of other dancers, this is the best time to try. You are in the comfort of your own home and nobody is watching if you miss a step.” Thank you, Marie-Luce, for helping us dance even during difficult times!
