Come join us for our annual 4-H Fair and Frying Pan Farm Park Show! The Fair, which has been a staple at the Park for 63 years, is one of the oldest fairs in Virginia. The event will include live entertainment, 4-H club demonstrations, rides, horse and dog shows, and blacksmithing demonstrations by the Blacksmith Guild of the Potomac, as well as feature its traditional exhibits ranging from Crafts and Woodworking to Food and Nutrition. The grand opening of the fair is on Saturday, August 6, at 10 a.m. with the posting of the colors, and crowning of the 2011 King and Queen. It culminates with the Parade of Champions Sunday, August 7 at 4 p.m..
4-H is a community of young people ages 5-19 who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills through participation in clubs across America. Each youth-led club receives guidance and support from adult volunteer leaders. The Fair is jointly sponsored by the 4-H Youth Development Program of Virginia Cooperative Extension, Fairfax County Department of Neighborhood and Community Services, the Fairfax County Park Authority and Frying Pan Farm Park.
Frying Pan Farm Park is located on West Ox Road just off the Fairfax County Parkway. From I-66 take the Fairfax County Parkway north to West Ox Road. Turn left on West Ox Road and follow West Ox to Frying Pan Farm Park on the right.
There will be a $5 parking fee, however admission to the Fair is free. Donations to support the 4-H Fair and canned goods for the Food for Others Food Bank will be most appreciated.
