Fairfax County's Volunteer Solutions Invites Community to Open Houses
Volunteer Solutions, the Fairfax County program that recruits volunteers to provide services to older people and adults with disabilities, invites the community to drop by one of its upcoming open houses to learn about its volunteer opportunities.
According to Volunteer Solutions Director Ruth Reagan, the program provides convenient volunteer opportunities close to where volunteers live and work.
Volunteer Solutions is a program of the county’s Department of Family Services’ Fairfax Area Agency on Aging.
The open houses will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. at each of the
regional offices on the following dates:

The agency’s efforts to engage volunteers to serve older adults and adults with disabilities aligns with the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors’ Fairfax 50+ Action Plan 2007for creating services for “a more aging friendly community tomorrow.” The plan can be found at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/olderadults.
The Fairfax Area Agency on Aging is part of the Department of Family Services’ Division of Adult and Aging Services. The division serves older adults, caregivers, and people with disabilities in Fairfax County and the cities of Fairfax and Falls Church.
