HOV Lanes |

HOV, or High Occupancy Vehicle lanes
are available to ridesharers on Interstates 66, 95 and 395 and on Route 267 (the Dulles Toll Road) in Fairfax County. Vehicles must have a
minimum number of occupants to travel on these lanes during peak
commuting hours. Since vehicle occupancy is restricted in the
HOV lanes, traffic moves faster than in the regular traffic lanes. HOV Times and Occupancy RequirementsI-66HOV-2: Far left lane, between Manassas Route 234 and I-495 (outside the Capital Beltway)
HOV-2: Both lanes between I-495 and Washington, D.C. (inside the Capitol Beltway); eastbound non-HOV traffic must exit onto I-495
I-95 & I-395 HOV lanesHOV-3: Separate median lanes from Washington, D.C. to Dumfries
Dulles Toll RoadHOV-2: Far left lane
