Fairfax County Recognizes 17 Employers as "Best Workplaces for Commuters"

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors recognized 17 local employers as "Best Workplaces for Commuters" (BWCs) at its meeting on Feb. 3, 2026. The organizations who were celebrated have prioritized innovative programs and benefits that enhance employee wellbeing, reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality. These companies, residential properties and worksites are part of an ever-growing list of "Best Workplaces" in Fairfax County (more than 190 since 2010).

In addition, today's honorees join more than 90 employers who were recognized as "Best Workplaces" in Virginia. Thanks to the efforts of Fairfax County and other jurisdictions around the Commonwealth, Virginia has taken over the nation's number one ranking for BWC's by state.

Best Workplaces for Commuters Honorees Feb. 3, 2026

Fairfax County honorees:

AAC Inc., is a proven leader in the federal systems integrator community with more than four decades of experience. Located in Vienna (Providence District), AAC Inc., is being recognized as a BWC based on their commuter programs that offer employees hybrid and remote work options as well as commuter transit benefits.

Apple Federal Credit Union, based in Fairfax (Braddock District), is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial institution serving the region for 70 years. Apple FCU's Fairfax Corner headquarters, located steps from the Monument Garage with convenient Connector and Metro access, supports commuters with hybrid work options, carpool opportunities, and amenities such as EV charging, a fitness center and walkable dining.

Arrowbrook Centre is a residential and retail mixed-use community in Herndon (Dranesville District) that is the first community in Virginia to receive the Best Workplaces for Commuters - Residential Site designation.  It offers tenants a commuter kiosk, electric vehicle chagrining, a robust transportation website page with sustainable commute options, and a helpdesk to send commuting information and answer questions. 

Association Innovation and Management, Inc., is a Reston, VA-based consulting firm (Hunter Mill District) focused on association management and marketing. AIM provides employees with commuter benefits that include hybrid and remote work options, commuter transit benefits, as well as showers, lockers, and bike storage for active commuters. 

AT&T, a leader in reliable and secure connectivity, has been recognized as a BWC for their corporate offices in Chantilly (Sully District). AT&T recently completed a move from their Northern Virginia office to a new location in Chantilly and offers their employees flexible work options, commuter transit benefits, as well as commuter friendly amenities such as electric vehicle charging, a fitness center with showers and an onsite grab-and-go food kiosk. 

Headquartered in Reston (Hunter Mill District), Audi is passionate about performance, precision, design and innovation to push the limits of mobility further and offers premium vehicles to meet the needs of today’s consumers from gas and battery electric to PHEV models. Audi of America is being recognized recognized for designing hybrid and flexible work options as well as providing a wide array of commuter benefits for onsite employees.

Bana Solutions, headquartered in McLean (Providence District), is an IT infrastructure and data analytics consulting firm. Bana Solutions is being recognized as a BWC based on the commuter benefits provided to their employees, including hybrid and remote work options, daycare and restaurants on site, as well as showers, lockers, and bike storage for active commuters. 

Dev Technology Group, a federal technology services provider in Reston (Hunter Mill District) is committed to sustainability and environmental accountability. Dev Technology is being recognized because of their hybrid work options and the variety of commuter amenities they provide their employees, including Metro and parking accessibility on location with EV charging stations, onsite amenities including restaurants, bike storage, and a fitness center with showers and lockers for active commuters.

ICF is a global solutions and technology provider that improved its commuter program after relocating its headquarters to Reston (Hunter Mill district) – steps from Metrorail and the W&OD bike trail – making public transit and biking easier. The company offers flexible remote and hybrid work options, transit and bike subsidies, and amenities such as a fitness center, proximity to restaurants, and EV charging stations.

KNZ Solutions, an IT consulting and professional services firm based in Vienna (Providence District), is being recognized for its agile commuter friendly programs, including hybrid and remote work options, a range of transit supportive amenities such as bike storage, refreshments, onsite rejuvenation amenities for active commuters, and access to pre tax commuter transit benefits.

Markon is a mission integrator in Falls Church (Mason District) with a federal government focus. Markon supports its people by offering competitive benefits that allow them to maximize their commuter transit benefits, carpools and vanpools, as well as bike storage for active commuters, and telecommuting.

Incorporated in 2012, MDW is a small business headquartered in McLean (Providence District) that provides Federal government clients with a full range of services. MDW Associates is being recognized as a BWC based on the commuter benefits provided to their employees, including hybrid and remote work options, compressed workweek, FSA plans to allow pre-tax dollars toward parking and transit, as well as showers and lockers for active commuters. 

Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC), the largest community college in Virginia, offers three campuses in Fairfax County: Annandale (Braddock District), Springfield (Franconia District) and Fairfax (Springfield District). NVCC offers employees commuter transit benefits, direct access to Connector buses, and a variety of commuter amenities for faculty and students including bike storage, fitness centers with showers and lockers for active commuters, electric vehicle charging and onsite cafes. 

Peterson Companies, one of the region’s largest privately-owned real estate developers, is based in Fairfax (Braddock District) with a corporate office located adjacent to the Monument Drive Parking Garage and Transit Center. The company offers employees one day of telework per week, electric vehicle charging stations, showers, lockers, bike storage and walkable access to restaurants, retail and fitness options. 

Syntelligent Analytic Solutions, headquartered in Falls Church, is a professional services and consulting firm working with federal and private sector agencies. Syntelligent Analytic Solutions is being recognized as a BWC because of their remote and hybrid work options and their commuter transit benefits program. 

Systems Planning & Analysis (SPA) is a global IT provider for critical national security priorities, headquartered in Alexandria with additional offices in Chantilly (Sully District), Lorton (Mount Vernon District) and Vienna (Providence District). Their BWC recognition is a result of offering robust transit benefits and flexible work options. 

Take2 Consulting, LLC, is an IT and workforce solutions firm based in Vienna (Hunter Mill District) that supports employee commuting and flexibility through hybrid and telework options, a metro-accessible headquarters, bike parking, an on-site gym with locker room and showers, and an on-site café that helps make the workday more convenient for its employees.
