FairfaxConnector to Absorb Metro Bus Service in Centreville and Chantilly Areas in 2009
Public Meetings Scheduled

Fairfax County will absorb the Metrobus 2W, 12 and 20 lines into the Fairfax Connector bus system in early calendar year 2009. To gather information on how to better meet the transportation needs of existing passengers and residents in the neighborhoods served by these bus routes, Fairfax County Department of Transportation will hold two public meetings in Oct. The 12 and 20 line routes serve the Centreville and Chantilly areas and include routes12A, 12C, 12D, 12E, 12F, 12G, 12L, 12M, 12R, 12S, 20F, 20W, 20X, 20Y. Metrobus 2W serves the Oakton area of Vienna. No changes to the schedule and routing of Metrobus route 2W are expected.

Members of the public, current customers and residents of the neighborhoods served by these buses are welcome to attend either meeting:

Saturday, Oct. 13
10 a.m.
Chantilly High School
4201 Stringfellow Road
Chantilly, VA 20151

Tuesday, Oct. 16
7 p.m.
Rocky Run Middle School
4400 Stringfellow Road
Chantilly, VA 20151

 

Attendees wishing to speak at a meeting can sign up in advance by calling Katharyn Rogers at 703-324-1120, TTY 703-324-1102 or can sign up at the beginning of each meeting. Follow-up meetings will be held in December once decisions have been made regarding what changes, if any, will occur on these routes.
