Fairfax Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) Volunteers: Unless otherwise noted, register for classes using your TRAINVa account. First time registration in TRAINVa requires creation of an account; your VMS username and password will not work for this site. Get directions on creating an account.

MRC Orientation
When: Tuesday, January 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

MRC Advisory Council

Membership Requirements:  Advisory Council members only

Medical Countermeasures Dispensing Training
When: Saturday, January 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Where: Kelly Square, 10777 Main Street, Third Floor, Fairfax, VA 22030
Membership Requirements: Active volunteers only

Mount Vernon Town Hall Community Outreach Event
When: Saturday, February 4 from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Where: Mount Vernon High School, Alexandria, VA
Membership Requirements: Community Champions only

Point of Dispensing (POD) Setup/Demobilization Drill
When: Monday, February 6
Where: Centreville High School, Centreville, VA
Membership Requirements: POD trained Active MRC volunteers only
Registration: Email hdmrc@fairfaxcounty.gov

Basic Training

All Fairfax MRC members must complete an application and the Basic Training Requirements to be considered an Active Level volunteer and participate in any MRC-related activity.

Basic Training Requirements include the following classes:

  • MRC 101: Orientation
  • FEMA IS-700: National Incident Management System (NIMS) An Introduction
  • FEMA IS-100: Introduction to Incident Command System

New volunteers must complete MRC Orientation and Personal Preparedness to fulfill the personal preparedness training requirement.

Pending volunteers, who have completed their Orientation, must complete the Personal Preparedness Workshop prior to being accepted as an Active member of Fairfax MRC.

Active volunteers, who have already completed their Basic Training Requirements, must complete the Personal Preparedness Workshop by September 1, 2016.
