CSB Volunteer Opportunities
The Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board's (CSB) VIVA Program offers a variety of volunteer opportunities to use your ideas, talents and expertise in support of the people we work with in our community. We partner with individuals, families and the community to empower and support Fairfax-Falls Church residents with or at risk of developmental delay, intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and alcohol or drug abuse or dependency. Explore our website to learn more about our agency.
Volunteers are needed at various sites throughout Fairfax County. Our volunteer opportunities change frequently, and can include such things as:
- teaching new skills
- helping with office tasks
- grounds keeping
- transporting people in county vehicles
- helping staff, and
- many others.
After submitting a resume and application, applicants will be selected for interviews with both VIVA staff and site staff. Staff will then look for the best fit between the applicant and the various programs and sites currently in need of volunteers. All volunteer opportunities require onboarding paperwork to be completed, reference checks, and required TB test screening prior to starting. In addition confidentiality and human rights training must be completed. Some volunteer opportunities require a background check. After being completing these requirements, volunteers can begin to enjoy the rewards of personal growth and service to others.
