SACC Winter Program

December 26 - 28, 2012 (three day program)

Virtual Destinations

This year's winter program will be filled with excitement as children set sail, take flight or venture on a road trip to a fascinating virtual destination. While on this three-day virtual trip, children will immerse themselves in the day-to-day lives of residents native to their destination and experience the local arts and entertainment, language and literature, and culture. Children will also have the opportunity to learn about the transportation, architecture and climate of their destination. Children will celebrate the last day of their adventure-filled trip with a variety of games, food, music, dancing and other fun activities.

Hours
7:15 a.m. – 6:15 p.m.

Ages
Kindergarten – 6th grade

Lunch
Your child will need a packed lunch and beverage each day. Please label both with your child's name and the date.

Snacks
Snacks are provided in the morning and afternoon. A snack menu will be posted near the sign-out area.

Fees
Winter program fees are assessed on a sliding scale. Fees are based on the adjusted household income, which is the gross household income minus $3,800 for each child under the age of 18.

Locations
SACC's Winter Program will be located in 22 Fairfax County Public Schools.

To enroll your child, please call SACC Registration at 703-449-8989, TTY 711 between 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday, except holidays.

General Information

Please:
Accompany your child into the center each day and let a teacher know your child has arrived.

Have your child wear comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate for both indoor and outdoor activities.

Sign your child out each evening on the parent sign-out board and let a teacher know you are leaving.

Current Families: If your child is enrolled in SACC before school, or after school during the school year, a copy of your child’s Licensing Information for SACC Records form and School Entrance Health form will be transferred to your winter program site. Please see your center staff to verify that the information on the Licensing Information form is accurate and up-to-date, and to verify that both copies of the form have an original signature.

New Families: If your child does not attend SACC during the school year program, but is enrolled in the winter program, you will need to provide SACC with a copy of your child’s School Entrance Health form, a completed Licensing Information for SACC Records form, and proof of your child’s identity (birth certificate, report card, passport, or Social Security card).

Cancellation Reminder: If your plans change, please remember that SACC requires a minimum of two weeks' notice to cancel service. Service must be cancelled in advance to avoid being responsible for payment. Cancellations may be made by calling 703-449-8989 or by emailing SACC Registration at saccregistration@fairfaxcounty.gov. Please include your name, your child’s name, account number, center name and service to be cancelled.
