What We Do

Early Childhood Programs and Services (ECPS) supports the care, education and development of children from birth through elementary school. By collaborating with early childhood professionals, families, schools and community partners, ECPS helps children reach their fullest potential. Working with the community, schools and county, ECPS leads the “Strong Foundations, Bright Futures” strategy for early childhood in Fairfax County.

The Office for Children is now called Early Childhood Programs and Services. This rebranding effort, part of a recent agency realignment, reflects the full spectrum of services NCS offers and provides an opportunity to enhance services for the community.

Neighborhood and Community Services, Early Childhood Programs and Services is the lead agency for Ready Region Capital Area (RRCA). RRCA includes the counties of Arlington and Fairfax and the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax and Falls Church.
