The Fairfax County Public Schools operate a 5.5 hour per day school program at the Juvenile Detention Center.

All curriculum at the Juvenile Detention Center School is based on the Virginia Standards of Living (SOL's) & the Fairfax County Public School's Program of Studies (POS). The curriculum offers levels of instruction emphasizing acquisition, fluency, and maintenance of academic & life skills. The curriculum includes all levels of math, history, science, and English. Other areas of instruction include psychology, sociology, art, music, technology, current events, drug education, and health & physical education. In addition, a G.E.D./ISAEP (Individualized Student Alternative Education Plan) preparation programs available to identified students. Hour for hour credit is forwarded to the base school at the time of the child's departure from the center.
