Focusing on Children's Mental Health
This year, Fairfax County has joined over 1,100 communities and 136 national collaborating organizations to officially proclaim May 8, 2014, as Children's Mental Health Awareness Day. Board of Supervisors Chairman Sharon Bulova presented the proclamation to Cristy Gallagher, a local advocate for families whose children need mental health services. Events are taking place throughout the month to focus attention on ways to nurture the mental health and resilience of our community’s children and their families.
