Emergency Plans

The Planning Division of the Department of Emergency Management and Security, with the support of their partners, have created plans that include our Emergency Operations Plan, our Pre-Disaster Recovery Framework, the Northern Virginia Hazard Mitigation Plan and the Community Emergency Response Guide.  These plans are accessible by the public to enhance their knowledge on operations of the county before, during, and after a disaster.

Emergency Operations Plan

The Fairfax County Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) is a multi-discipline, all-hazards plan that establishes a single, comprehensive framework for the management of major emergencies and disasters within the County. The EOP establishes the overall roles and responsibilities for emergency operations, as well as the concept of operations for the County.

2022 Northern Virginia Hazard Mitigation Plan (Approved Pending Adoption)

 

Northern Virginia Hazard Mitigation Plan 2022 

Adopted by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, the Northern Virginia Hazard Mitigation Plan identifies hazards, establishes mitigation goals and objectives, and identifies projects that will help prepare for and reduce the impacts of natural disasters.

Community Emergency Response Guide

The Fairfax County Community Emergency Response Guide will provide you with the tools you need to help you become more prepared. This guide will help you create a family emergency plan, a business preparedness plan, a neighborhood preparedness plan and an emergency supply kit. It also includes a wealth of information on hazards and resources to help you be more prepared.

The Fairfax County Pre-Disaster Recovery Framework (PDRF) is a multi-discipline, all-hazards plan that establishes a single, comprehensive framework for managing the recovery from major disasters affecting the County. The PDRF is designed to guide recovery actions that result in a resilient, safe, physically accessible, sustainable, and economically strong community.
