The Fairfax County Citizen Corps Council brings together our community’s fire and rescue service, emergency managers, health care providers, law enforcement, other support agencies, and the volunteer community to involve all citizens in emergency preparedness, mitigation, response, recovery, crime prevention, and emergency training.
The Core Programs are the Community Emergency Response Team, Fire Corps, Medical Reserve Corps, Volunteers in Police Service and Neighborhood Watch.
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a program to make communities safer, more prepared, and when incidents occur, more resilient in recovery.
Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) volunteers may be called on to provide emergency assistance, like staffing medication dispensing sites, shelters or vaccination clinics.
The VIPS Program was established in 1999 to utilize volunteers to augment the administrative operations of the Police department.
Fire Corps® is a national grassroots effort to help fire/EMS departments enhance their services by engaging with community members to assist with non-emergency tasks.
Enhances and foster communications between the community and the police department through the Crime Prevention Office.
