THE HEALTH CARE ADVISORY BOARD (HCAB) was created in 1973 to assist the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors in the development of health policy for the County and to advise the Board on health and health related issues which may be expected to impact the County citizens. The HCAB performs duties as mandated by the Board of Supervisors, those initiated by the Board or by the HCAB itself. The HCAB communicates directly with the Board of Supervisors. The underlying goal of the HCAB's activities has been promotion of the availability and accessibility of quality cost-effective health care in Fairfax County. See the current meeting schedule.
