General Rules
- Playgrounds – Patrons must use age-appropriate playground equipment.

Alcoholic beverages and unauthorized sale/distribution of food products
are not permitted on school grounds.
Organized athletic activities must be played on designated athletic fields only.
Athletic Field Rules*

The scheduling of organized sport groups and the issuance of permits to
those groups shall be in accord with guidelines provided by Fairfax
County Public Schools (FCPS) and the Fairfax County Board of
Supervisors. Permits are issued by the Fairfax County Department of
Neighborhood and Community Services. Permit holders shall have first
rights for the use of the fields to which they have been assigned. A
field not being utilized by a permit holder may be used by others,
including the “walk-on?? public.

Hitting, throwing or kicking balls into fences is not allowed.

Golfing, pets or motorized vehicles are not allowed on fields.

Play on fields is prohibited during wet or inclement weather.

Field maintenance is prohibited without prior approval from the
FCPS.

Climbing on the fences, backstops and goals is not allowed.

After all athletic play, portable goals (soccer, field hockey, or
lacrosse) used on athletic fields will either be properly stored off
the athletic field using chains to mitigate any turnover risk or
physically removed from the site.

Competitive recreation – baseball, softball, basketball, football,
lacrosse, hockey, tennis, soccer and other active competitive sports --
is allowed only on the FCPS designated athletic facilities during
regular operating hours.

Field closings for maintenance, safety or other reasons deemed
appropriate for the management and protection of property shall be at
the discretion of Fairfax County Public Schools.

For patron safety, only players, coaches, umpires and referees are
allowed on athletic fields. All spectators, pets and others are to
remain at least 15 feet from the boundary of the field, or outside a
perimeter fence.

In interest of public health and in accordance with relevant code and
ordinances, designated bathroom facilities shall be used.

School PTA’s and boosters have the first right of refusal on sales of
concessions on school property. The school may grant sale of
concessions by an outside group through a concession stand agreement
form available at the school.

FCPS reserves the right to restrict access to grounds due to
inappropriate behavior.
*The rules above pertain to all our fields except for designated high school athletic fields that are restricted for school and authorized community use – such as the stadium field.
