The process for applying for and receiving allocations at synthetic turf fields is the same as for all fields. Turf fields are scheduled in accordance with the Field Allocation Policy and the Synthetic Turf Field Allocation Guidelines.
Synthetic turf fields are available year-round, but lighted fields are available only until 9 p.m. during the winter season (December through February).
Synthetic turf fields do require regular maintenance, although it is less than that required of grass fields. To ensure the quality and safety of the fields, users are not permitted to perform any maintenance on the fields, including lining and snow or ice removal.
The development and conversion of fields to synthetic turf is funded by a variety of methods in Fairax County. Community athletic groups that are interested in funding the development or conversion of a turf field should familiarize themselves with the following:

The notice will remain posted for at least 30 days prior to the signing of any agreement to begin the project.
