Families
What We Do
The Commission will strive to connect the military community with support, find service gaps, and improve access to resources. The Commission will explore issues such as home and childcare costs, access to food, employment, and mental health. Issues like medical treatment, justice issues, homelessness, and education will also be considered. The Commission will seek advice and guidance from county staff to address the problems facing the military community that live and work in Fairfax County.
Veterans and Military Families Online Survey
The commission is conducting a survey to identify gaps in serving county veterans and military community. The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete. It will close on Feb. 16, 2026. The feedback will be used to help inform county policy and practices for this community.
The inaugural report summarizes the discussions, veteran services provider presentations, and overarching reoccurring themes identified during the Veterans and Military Families Commission meetings from July 11, 2024 through Nov. 13, 2025.
