Fairfax County Hosts Mega Job Fair and Entrepreneurship Expo
Fairfax County will host the 2008 Mega Job Fair and Entrepreneurship Expo – “Envision Your Success” – on Saturday, March 29, 2008, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fairfax County Government Center located at 12000 Government Center Parkway in Fairfax.
The event is open to the public. Admission and parking are free. No pre-registration is required.
“This annual event has become a symbol of Fairfax County’s commitment to supporting individuals in their career growth, as well as launching businesses to fuel the economy,” says Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairman Gerald E. Connolly.
Over 2,500 jobseekers and prospective entrepreneurs are expected. Employers from various industry sectors will be participating, offering a wide range of career opportunities in such areas as information technology, finance, retail, business services, and federal, state and local governments.
The expo offers:
- For job seekers – connections with employers who are hiring now.
- For employers – connections with skilled workers.
- For current or prospective entrepreneurs – business resources and useful tips for starting or expanding a business.
- For small businesses – training about procedures and opportunities for selling products and services to state agencies.
- For teens – a special workshop on how to find and keep a job.

Fairfax County’s Department of Family Services, the SkillSource Group, Inc., the Center for Business Planning and Development, the Northern Virginia Workforce Investment Board, the Business Development Assistance Group, and employers from various industries throughout the region have joined forces to present this unique event.
