Title
V/Senior Community Services Employment Program
The Senior Community Services Employment Program provides job
experience to people 55 and over who have limited income.
Participants are placed in temporary part-time jobs with
nonprofit and government agencies and receive hourly stipends.
They also receive employment counseling, a free physical exam,
on-the-job training, job search training and information on
benefits such as Social Security.
Positions include outreach workers, library aides, recreation
center aides, senior employment assistants, casework drivers,
Medicaid clerical workers, and benefits workers.
The program is often called the Title V Program because it is
funded under Title V of the federal Older Americans Act of
1968.
Applications are limited to residents of Fairfax County, or
the cities of Falls Church or Fairfax City, who are 55 and
over, have limited income, and are capable of performing the
tasks involved in the job training position. For contact
information, call 703-324-7948, TTY 711.
