To correct an inaccurate state mailing, Fairfax County will be sending voters in the Towns of Clifton, Herndon and Vienna a notice about their polling place.

Recently, the Virginia Department of Elections in Richmond sent a mailing to voters in these three towns that incorrectly identified their polling place. In Fairfax County, about 25,000 voters in total are affected.

To fix the state’s mistake, the Fairfax County Office of Elections will send a letter to voters in these towns with their correct polling place. Election officials anticipate that these letters will go in the mail as soon as Monday, Oct. 24.

To confirm your polling place and precinct, you may also call the Fairfax County Office of Elections at 703-222-0776, TTY 711 or check your voter information on the state’s online portal.

Voters in Clifton, Herndon and Vienna will receive a personalized letter that states their correct polling place name, location and precinct. It reads as follows:

Dear Voter,

It has come to our attention that voters in the Towns of Herndon, Clifton, and Vienna recently received a notice from the Virginia Department of Elections in Richmond advising them of an incorrect location and address for their polling place. Please disregard that notice.

The correct address for your voting location is the one shown on the green sample ballot and voter information flyer that you received from the Fairfax County Office of Elections in September and is printed below.

At any time you may check your voter registration information at Vote.Elections.Virginia.gov/VoterInformation.

Please contact my staff at 703-222-0776 if you have any questions.
