OVERVIEW OF THE COMMUNITY FIRE & RESCUE ACADEMY:
Designed for adults to learn more about how the fire department is organized and operates. The Community Fire & Rescue Academy (CFRA) is open to persons 18 and older who live in Fairfax County. Classes meet Wednesday evenings for eight consecutive weeks, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. beginning September 21, 2022 and ending November 9, 2022. Each session, participants learn about a different aspect of the fire department, ranging from fire suppression, emergency medical services, hiring and training firefighters to special rescue operations. Participants will also spend time at fire stations, training academy, Public Safety Headquarters, and at the 911 dispatch center. For more information please contact Deputy Chief Willie Bailey, Health, Safety, and Wellness Division, 703-246-4630 or via email at fire.cfra@fairfaxcounty.gov.
