The Fairfax County Park Foundation established the Eakin Philanthropy Award in 2009 in honor of the Eakin family, donors of the first parcels of parkland to the Park Authority more than 50 years ago. The annual award recognizes individuals and organizations whose financial or in-kind contributions have significantly enhanced Fairfax County parks through the Foundation.  This year five honorees are the recipients of the award including the Hwang Family for support of County Parks, Starlight Cinema Partners for supporting popular summer entertainment, Dominion Energy for Park Philanthropy, and Trinity Centre, and I-66 Express for co-sponsoring the Park Authority’s Starlight Cinema Summer Entertainment Series.
