Everyone likes free (and we like alliteration), so we gathered a list of five free services and events available to you now and in coming weeks.

1. Tick ID Service: Ick! Find a tick on you or your child? The Health Department will identify the type of tick free of charge

2. Document Shredding: Secure document shredding events are available free to county residents, as well as residents of Vienna, Herndon, Clifton, Fairfax City and Falls Church. Documents from businesses are not accepted.

3. Access to Magazines Online: All you need is a Fairfax County Library card account (also free!) to access many of your favorite magazines on your computer or mobile device. See the list of magazines on Zinio for more information.

4. Concert Series: The county’s summer concert series continues into the fall, with many free toe-tapping opportunities countywide.

5. Newsletters for Residents 50+ and Caregivers: Online newsletters and resources are available to county residents ages 50+ and better, as well as caregivers of older adults.
