Women’s Equality Day 2020 marks the 100^th anniversary of the ratification of the 19^th Amendment to the United States Constitution, giving women the constitutional right to vote in this country. This milestone was celebrated in a ceremony at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, hosted by Fairfax County Mount Vernon District Supervisor Dan Storck and the Workhouse Arts Center. Dignitaries included Mason District Supervisor Penny Gross, Congressman Gerry Connolly, and representatives from the Fairfax History Commission and the Lucy Burns Museum, who, along with several others, shared moving testimonies surrounding this important chapter in our nation’s history.
