When a disaster strikes, the Fairfax County Department of Emergency Management and Security works with Neighborhood and Community Services to help residents who are affected. They provide emergency shelters for those in need. Recently, the two groups practiced their plans with their staff and community volunteers to make sure they are ready to help when needed.
