Finding and Downloading Maps

Learn about how to find/download maps of Fairfax County.

The Fairfax County Map Wizard is an interactive mapping application for creating and printing maps in the style of the official property, zoning, and other map books, but with custom extents and scales. These maps are free to create, download and print at home.

Jade is a comprehensive map viewer with nearly 200 data layers that has reporting and custom map capabilities.

On the Fairfax County Open Data site, users can view and download over 170 of the county's GIS data layers. These data may also be added to an online map or used in desktop GIS software to create a custom map. Fairfax County does not offer technical support for these functionalities, but details may be found on the Esri website.

Weekly-updated map book pages, in addition to a library of historical map book pages, are available to view and download (one page at a time) for free in our Digital Map Viewer application found in the gallery of Interactive Mapping Applications. The full set of Property and Zoning map pages current to January 1st, 2020 are also available for download from our Sharefile site.

In addition, the Map Wizard application may be used to create free, print-ready maps of official Fairfax County map book data with custom scales and extents.

The GIS Division curates a large selection of both static and interactive maps. The Static Map Gallery has pdf maps that may be viewed/downloaded/printed. Many of the applications in our Interactive Map Gallery also have print capabilities.

If you are interested in the "official" Fairfax County property and zoning maps, we have weekly-updated map book pages, in addition to a library of historical map book pages, available to view and download (one at a time) for free in our Digital Map Viewer application. In addition, the full set of Property and Zoning map pages current to January 1st, 2020 are available for download.

You can also use the Map Wizard application to create print-ready maps with custom scales and extents. These maps are in the style of the official property, zoning, and other map books.

If you would like a poster size printout of any of our maps, we suggest an online search for "poster pdf printing". You will find a wide selection of vendors, many of whom offer contactless ordering and delivery.
