The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments has issued a Drought Watch for Fairfax County that will likely continue into the fall and winter.
This past October was the sixth driest October on record in Fairfax County over the past 130 years according to the National Integrated Drought Information System.
Residents and businesses are asked to use water wisely and follow safety measures to prevent fires.
