Program Curriculum

Building A Mystery Adventure

During this fun-filled week children will jump into the pages of their own adventure and write their own storyline. As the main character, children will choose an adventure and determine the choices, actions, and outcomes of their own mystery tale! Children will enjoy working cooperatively to explore riddles and puzzles as they develop the storytelling elements of their own mysteries.  Teachers will also encourage children to use their critical thinking skills and deductive reasoning to create challenges and problem-solving games. What ingredients will they need to make invisible ink? How can they work together to identify patterns? What skills will they need to solve the mystery bag art challenge? Children will use their imaginations and creativity to build and solve unique mystery adventures and more!

Lunch
Your child will need a packed lunch and beverage each day. Please label both with your child's name and the date.

Additional Information

Medication
Please provide any required medication and the appropriate Fairfax County Public Schools/SACC medication authorization form.

Health and Safety
SACC centers are required to have accurate and up-to-date emergency information for all children. This information is part of the Child Information for SACC Records form which parents must complete for each child enrolled. Contact information is required for at least two persons who may pick up your child in the event of an emergency if you cannot be reached. Children will be released from SACC only to the persons listed on their Child Information for SACC Records form as parents/guardians, emergency contacts or authorized pick-up persons. Any authorized pick-up person unfamiliar to the center staff must show photo identification. Children will not be released to walk home alone.

Current Families
If your child is enrolled in SACC before school, or after school during the school year, a copy of your child's Child Information for SACC Records form and School Entrance Health form and immunization record will be transferred to your spring program site. Please see your center staff to verify that the information on the Child Information form is accurate and up-to-date, and to verify that both copies of the form have an original signature.

New Families
If your child does not attend SACC during the school year program, but is enrolled in the spring program, you will need to provide SACC with a copy of your child's School Entrance Health form and Immunization Record, a completed Child Information for SACC Records form, and show proof of your child's identity (birth certificate, report card, passport or Social Security card).

Cancellation Reminder
If your plans change, please remember that SACC requires 2 weeks advance notice to cancel service. Service must be cancelled in advance to avoid being responsible for payment. Cancellations may be made by calling 703-449-8989 or by emailing SACC Registration. Please include your name, your child's name, account number, center name and service to be cancelled.
