2019 Camp Discovery

Join us for an exciting, adventure filled summer at SACC's Camp Discovery. Camp Discovery provides rising 1st - 7th graders opportunities to participate in a variety of fun experiences that appeal to the artist, performer and athlete in every child. SACC's experienced and dynamic teachers are dedicated to guiding children through activities designed to nurture their creativity and develop their talents and skills. Located in 27 convenient locations throughout Fairfax County, each camp offers three cabins to explore.

The Artist's Cabin provides the opportunity for children to explore a variety of art forms such as textile art, acrylic canvas painting and the world of 3D art and sculpture. Campers will experiment with photography and also be introduced to the science of art. Children with an interest in theatre will have opportunities in the Performer's Cabin to choreograph dances, create video productions, produce a live action game show, perform a mystery play, present stories from around the globe, and  bring the characters from Dr. Seuss to life in a musical performance. In the Athlete's Cabin children will enjoy fun field day games and team building challenges, as well as the opportunity to show their speed during track and field week and develop their skills in flag football, basketball, soccer, and baseball. Camp Discovery also provides opportunities for campers to develop friendships, participate in outdoor play, live performances, professional sporting events and other field trips. We hope to see you this summer at Camp Discovery - a great place to be a child!
