Dec. 6: Get Crafty!

McLean Holiday Crafts Show: The three-day, indoor, juried show features fine, handcrafted arts and crafts works from both established, high-quality, seasoned artisans, as well as new artisans exhibiting innovative concepts. The show includes pottery, glass, jewelry, holiday decorations, mixed media, fashion accessories, wood, fine art, artisanal foods, soaps, skincare and more. North Pole Winter Wagon Ride: The campground at Lake Fairfax Park is transformed into a magical winter light show for you and your family. Enjoy a wagon ride through the festive holiday lights. Afterward, warm yourself by the fire, sip hot chocolate and make s’mores. From 6 to 9 p.m. at Lake Fairfax Park. Ages 2 and up. $10 per person. Register online. Dec. 8: Walking in a…

Winter Wonderland: All aboard for a train ride on the Holiday Express. Take a spin on the Carolers Carousel, play Gingerbread Man Golf or warm yourself by the fire and cook s’mores as you usher in your holidays. Visit with Santa, enjoy hot chocolate and candy canes. Pick up passes at the ice cream parlor the day of the event. No refunds unless the event is cancelled. Children ages 10 and younger must be accompanied by an adult registered for the same ride package. Children younger than 2 ride free but must pay for other activities. Limited activity tickets will be available the day of the event at the park. From noon to 5 p.m. at Burke Lake Park (also on Sunday). Ages 2 and up. $20 per person. Register online. This event takes place in conjunction with the 21st Annual Gifts from the HeART Exhibit, which showcases original works of art in a variety of media in a wide range of sizes and prices. Enjoy a holiday wagon ride with Santa as your driver. From 10 to 11 a.m. and again from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Frying Pan Farm Park. Ages 2 and up. $10 per person. Gardeners Holiday Open House: Treat yourself to a day of holiday fun featuring decorations and seasonal displays, live music, holiday breads and ornaments for sale and free refreshments.
