Bike to Work Day 2023

Save the Date! Next Year's Bike to Work Day is May 17, 2024

The 22nd annual Bike to Work Day was held Friday, May 19, 2023. Commuter Connections, the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) and local governments including Fairfax County hosted pit stops for bicyclists throughout the National Capital Region. The first 15,000 who registered and checked in a pit stop by bike received a free T-shirt (this year's color was green), snacks and door prizes. Many telecommuters participated by biking to a T-shirt pickup point (pit stop) and then back home to work for the day. And for longer commutes, many pit stops are located near transit stops or park-and-ride options, making biking a great first- and last-mile option for commuting.

Participants need to preregister for the event at www.biketoworkmetrodc.org to reserve their T-shirt (limited to first 15,000 registrants) and be eligible for raffle prizes
Pit stops have varying hours - be sure to check the schedule when registering
Check your route in advance using the Fairfax County Bike Map
There is no dress code for Bike to Work Day - shorter commutes can be completed in work attire or street clothes
