WHAT WE DO

Since 1977, Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) has served the Fairfax County community by enhancing mobility, safety and the quality of life of residents, businesses and visitors through planning, coordinating, funding, implementing and sustaining a multi-modal transportation system that moves people and goods, consistent with the values of the community.

FCDOT Status Report

Between March and August of 2018, 20 transportation projects were completed, including 17 bicycle and pedestrian projects; two roadway projects; and one (1) transit project. In addition to these projects, 22 bus stop improvements were completed. The 20 completed projects listed below include five (5) Transportation Priorities Plan (TPP) projects that were approved by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors on January 28, 2014.

Parkways Survey

FCDOT has launched an online survey requesting feedback fromĀ residents onĀ future Fairfax County and Franconia-Springfield Parkways corridor enhancements, part of the Fairfax County & Franconia-Springfield Parkways Alternatives Analysis and Long Term Planning Study.
