CALL TO ORDER

Commission Chair Gloria Crawford called the Wednesday, January 15, 2020 Commission meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

Approval of Agenda: It was moved by Commissioner Malik and seconded by Commissioner Solon that the January 15, 2020 Agenda be approved as presented.

The motion passed by unanimous vote.

Approval of Agenda: It was moved by Commissioner Alber and seconded by Commissioner Solon that the December 4, 2019 Agenda be approved as presented. The motion passed by unanimous vote.

Approval of Minutes: It was moved by Commissioner Alber and seconded by Commissioner Malik that the December 4, 2020 Minutes be approved as amended. The motion passed by unanimous vote.

Approval of Minutes: It was moved by Commissioner Malik and seconded by Commissioner Solon that the November 20, 2019 Minutes be approved as presented. The motion passed by unanimous vote.

STAFF ISSUES: Director Saunders informed the Commission about the December monthly report. The staff met the balance score card for the month

COMMISSION BUSINESS:

HRC #2017029E – Appeal. It was moved by Commissioner Solon and seconded by Commissioner Bhinge that the staff findings be upheld, and this matter be dismissed due to no cause finding. This motion passed by unanimous vote.

HRC# 2019062H – FIR. It was moved by Commissioner Alber and seconded by Commissioner Malik on the matter of the reasonable accommodation that a finding of reasonable cause based on evidence sufficient to establish that a violation of the Human Rights Ordinance has occurred consistent with the recommendation of OHREP. The motion passed by majority vote, with Commissioner Alber abstaining.

It was moved by Commissioner Jimenez and seconded by Commissioner Malik on the matter of the terms and conditions that the complaint be dismissed due to insufficient evidence that a violation of the Human Rights Ordinance has occurred consistent with the recommendation of OHREP. The motion passed by unanimous vote.

It was moved by Commissioner Jimenez and seconded by Commissioner Malik on the matter of retaliation that the complaint be dismissed due to insufficient evidence that a violation of the Human Rights Ordinance has occurred consistent with the recommendation of OHREP. The motion passed by unanimous vote.

HRC# 2019089H – CONCILIATION. It was moved by Commissioner Solon and seconded by Commissioner Malik that the Conciliation Agreement in this matter be accepted as presented. The motion passed by unanimous vote.

HRC# 2019075H – CONCILIATION. It was moved by Commissioner Malik and seconded by Commissioner Alber that the Conciliation Agreement in this matter be accepted as presented. The motion passed by unanimous vote.

HRC# 2017142H -- CONCILIATION. It was moved by Commissioner Alber and seconded by Commissioner Bhinge that the Conciliation Agreement in this matter be accepted as presented. The motion passed by unanimous vote.

COMMUNITY CONCERNS: There were no community concerns.

PENDING BUSINESS: Election of Officers - Gloria Crawford will remain Commission Chair, Commissioner Malik will remain Vice-Chair, and Commissioner Jimenez was voted to be the new Secretary. .

NEW BUSINESS: There was no New Business.
