CALL TO ORDER:

Commission Chair Crawford called the Wednesday, November 16, 2022 Commission Meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.

 

Approval of AgendaIt was moved by Commissioner Salinas and seconded by Commissioner Malik that the November 16, 2022 Agenda be approved as presented.  The motion passed by unanimous vote.  

 

Approval of Minutes:  It was moved by Commissioner Malik and seconded by Commissioner Salinas that the October 19, 2022 Minutes be approved as amended.  The motion passed by unanimous vote.

 

STAFF ISSUESDirector Saunders stated that the Analysis of Impediments will be sent out to the Commissioners.

 

 

COMMISSION BUSINESS

HRC# 2022054H -- Conciliation:  It was moved by Commissioner Salinas and seconded by Commissioner Malik that the conciliation agreement in this matter be accepted as presented.  The motion passed by unanimous vote.

HRC# 2022022H -- Conciliation:  It was moved by Commissioner Malik and seconded by Commissioner Salinas that the conciliation agreement in this matter be accepted as presented.  The motion passed by unanimous vote.

The Fairfax County Human Rights Commission v. Kossow Management:  It was moved by Commissioner Salinas and seconded by Commissioner Malik that the Commission approve the initiated complaint be filed with OHREP in the matter of The Fairfax County Human Rights Commission v. Kossow Management.  The motion passed by unanimous vote

 

 

COMMUNITY CONCERNS:  Amanda Schlener will send out new outreach events to the Commissioners.

 

PENDING BUSINESSNone. 

 

 

NEW BUSINESS: Vote for Commission Officers - Commissioner Crawford was elected  Chair of the Commission.  Commissioner Malik has been nominated for Vice Chair and Commissioner Conde and Commissioner Shumaker have been nominated for Secretary.  The elections of these two officers will take place on December 7.
