CALL TO ORDER
Commission Chair Gloria Crawford called the Wednesday, September 16, 2020 Commission meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.
Approval of Agenda: It was moved by Commissioner Salinas and seconded by Commissioner Shipman that the September 16, 2020 Agenda be approved as presented. The motion passed by unanimous vote.
Approval of Minutes: It was moved by Commissioner Salinas and seconded by Commissioner Alber that the September 2, 2020 Minutes be approved as presented. The motion passed by unanimous vote.
STAFF ISSUES: Commissioner Salinas inquired about the vacant commissioners’ positions. Director Kenneth Saunders informed the commission that there are currently two vacant spots open.
COMMISSION BUSINESS
HRC# 2020067H - CONCILIATION. It was moved by Commissioner Salinas and seconded by Commissioner Bell-Krasner that the conciliation agreement in this matter be accepted as presented. The motion passed by unanimous vote.
HRC# 2020041H - CONCILIATION. It was moved by Commissioner Alber and seconded by Commissioner Salinas that the conciliation agreement in this matter be accepted as presented. The motion passed by unanimous vote.
COMMUNITY CONCERNS- commissioners would like the outreach coordinator to do a presentation of current and future outreach events as well as how many participants attend.
PENDING BUISNESS- Commissioner Salinas inquired about the updated webpage with commissioner’s pictures. Supervisor Michael Simms stated that he will contact a photographer and will get dates that they are available. Mike will give two months’ notice and update the commissioners on some availability dates.
AT&T bridge- Commissioner Alber expressed concern about current virtual meetings and inquired of other methods of holding commission virtual meetings. Mike Simms stated that the virtual meetings are safe, and he had the ability to monitor and mute participants on the calls. Director Saunders will check with the IT department to see if there are different mediums in holding meetings. Will table future meeting procedures for next upcoming commission meeting.
NEW BUSINESS - nomination of officers, commissioners can send nominations into the office.
Update commission on a medium for holding virtual meetings.
