CALL TO ORDER:

Commission Chair Crawford called the Wednesday, September 20, 2023, Commission Meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.

Approval of Agenda:  It was moved by Commissioner Salinas and seconded by Commissioner Shumaker that the September 20, 2023, Agenda be approved as presented.  The motion passed by unanimous vote.  

STAFF ISSUES: None.

COMMISSION BUSINESS: 

HRC# 2022073H -CONCILIATION:  Fairfax County Human Rights Commission v. Kettler (Waterside) et al. : It was moved by Commissioner Salinas and seconded by Commissioner Shumaker that the conciliation agreement in this matter be accepted as presented. The motion passed by unanimous vote.

HRC# 2023004H-CONCILIATION: Fairfax County Human Rights Commission et al. v. Kettler (Fields) et al.: It was moved by Commissioner Shumaker and seconded by Commissioner Salinas that the conciliation agreement in this matter be accepted as presented. The motion passed by unanimous vote.

HRC# 20223053H – CONCILIATION: Fairfax County Human Rights Commission v. Fairfax Village Apartments et al. It was moved by Commissioner Salinas and seconded by Commissioner Shumaker that the conciliation agreement in this matter be accepted as presented. The motion passed by unanimous vote.

HRC# 2022034H /HUD# 03-22-1861-8- CONCILIATION: Sanchez, Virginia v. LL Circle Towers Residential Associates, LLC at al. It was moved by Commissioner Shumaker and seconded by Commissioner Salinas that the conciliation agreement in this matter be accepted as presented. The motion passed by unanimous vote.

HRC# 2023030H – CONCILIATION: Rigney, Geraldine v. Donaldson Group et al.

It was moved by Commissioner Salinas and seconded by Commissioner Malik that the conciliation agreement in this matter be accepted as presented. The motion passed by unanimous vote.

HRC# 2020300H – CONCILIATION: Dawkins, Sapphire v. AJ Dwoskin et al.

It was moved by Commissioner Salinas and seconded by Malik that the conciliation agreement in this matter be accepted as presented. The motion passed by unanimous vote.

COMMUNITY CONCERNS:  None.

PENDING BUSINESS: Election of chairs – postponed

Commissioner Malik proposed an award for former commissioner Freda Shipman and Many Solon. The commission will discuss it in an upcoming commission meeting.
