Free Student Bus Pass + Metrobus

NEW: Fairfax County's Free Student Bus Pass + Metrobus program has expanded to include a total of five schools. Joining Justice High School: Annandale High School, Falls Church High School, George C. Marshall High School and Davis Center. Students who attend these schools can ride Metrobus for FREE in Northern Virginia, along with Fairfax Connector and City of Fairfax CUE. When you sign up for the pass, you'll receive a specially designed and programmed SmarTrip card. Interested? Get started by completing the application with permission from a parent/guardian. Then turn in the form to your school's administration office and you're good to go!

Here’s what you need to know:
- The Student Pass SmarTrip card can ONLY be used on Fairfax Connector, City of Fairfax CUE and specific Northern Virginia Metrobus routes listed in the table below.
- When you board the bus simply tap the card on the farebox and GO! Even though it's free, make sure to always use your card to get on the bus.
- If you wish to use Metrorail or any other transit system that accepts SmarTrip you will need a standard SmarTrip card.

Keep in mind, the card:
- Cannot be used on Metrorail or any Metrobus route outside of Virginia (ABSOLUTELY NO USE in DC or Maryland) If you attempt to use the card on a non-approved route outside of Northern Virginia your card will be deactivated and you will not be issued a new one.
- Does not carry any cash value. You can’t add money to it like a regular SmarTrip card.
- Works between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 10 p.m.
