• Local: Routes primarily serving one area.
• Cross-County: Routes that connect two or more areas.
• Express: Commuter routes with fewer stops and faster travel times, primarily serving the Pentagon and Washington D.C. during peak hours. Express routes require a higher fare.
• Airport: Service to and from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).
• RIBS (Reston Internal Bus Service): Routes serving the Reston area.
• Seasonal: Routes that operate on a limited seasonal schedule, such as the Wolf Trap Express during the summer concert season.

Service Reminder

Effective June 27, 2026, Fairfax Connector will implement several service changes including discontinuing Routes 622 and 552. Several stops along these routes will no longer be served, while others will continue to be served through alternative routes. Find specific eliminated stops on the Route 622 and Route 552 webpages.
