HomeWise Webinar: Outdoor Water Conservation

Directory
Date & Time
4/19/2022 - 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm

April showers bring May flowers, but what if it doesn't rain much? How can you use water in gardens and around the outside of your home in a responsible way? How can you cut costs due to outdoor water use as the summer approaches? The Fairfax County HomeWise program held a webinar on outdoor water conservation on April 19, 2022 to answer these questions and more.

This webinar included a presentation and a question and answer session. Attendees were invited to bring questions on common issues such as when and how much to water outdoor spaces and gardens, how to use sprinklers more effectively, using native and drought-tolerant plants to reduce your overall water use, creating good water-saving habits outdoors, and how to use a rain barrel.

The Fairfax County HomeWise program educates, empowers, and enables residents to make changes that reduce energy use, water use, and associated costs in their homes. Volunteers assist low- and moderate-income residents with physical improvements to their homes and provide support for behavior changes that are proven to conserve resources and money. Educational ambassadors connect with Fairfax County students and residents to raise awareness of personal actions that can save energy, water, and money.
